Spoymic is a karaoke-microphone, boasting a distinctive blend of visual allure and exceptional performance.
HTE set me up with an ambitious goal: to develop a design that captivates with its striking aesthetics, that matches built-in technical innovations. With a 360-degree counter-aperture speaker configuration and the capability for uninterrupted singing of several hours, Spoymic aimed to set new standards in the industry.
Being a satellite to a cloud-based online karaoke music player application, Spoymic faced the challenge of not only meeting outstanding aesthetic criteria but also piquing curiosity with a design that deviates from the mundane and conventional microphone styles. It was supposed to show what is a premium karaoke microphone, worthy of real music connoisseurs.
Driven by this vision, our design journey began.

Process Overview
Developing multiple rapid design concepts to catch the wave of the right direction.
Printing and testing concept prototypes. Decide to proceed with a concept, that looks lees like a microphone.
Defining the target feeling and the image with a moodboard.
Defining the concept design and details.
Redefining the bottom part shape and docking station design.
Repositioning the fabric within the perforation to shield it from rapid wear and dirt.
Designing several the perforation patterns and incorporating possibilities of personalisation.
The bottom part can be replaced with another one, showcasing a personalized logo.
Prototyping and testing surface finishes and patterns.
Refining the 3D model based on the analysis of preliminary designs and customer requirements.
Preparing CMF and graphic maps.
Producing and presenting real-scale aesthetic prototype.
